The newest rumour surrounding the new iPad mini is that the tablet will come on the market as early as the September as Apple has lined up suppliers for the LCD panel. This fact comes courtesy of a Taiwan news outlet called Liberty Times.
Liberty Times also states that when the iPad mini starts shipping their goal would be around 6 million units being produced. According to the report, LG and Au Optronics have both passed Apples certification tests, so they can supply the LCD panel. Further details state that both have been working flat-out to ship the panels for the production of the smaller iPad.
Alot of evidence has been pulled together to state that this smaller iPad will indeed be a reality, the product is also more consistently been said to be priced at around $200, but the memory statistics range through 8GB up to 16GB with everything in between. Apple has done this according to the report because of the competition they faced and now must live with between themselves and the 7-inch Kindle Fire, which improved the market share for Android Tablets.

According to a new report from iMore, the iPad mini will be much smaller version of the iPad that will be less expensive and offer less storage than the full sized iPad, but it will come with the same level of resolution.
The report states that not only is the device ready to be produced but it will be priced in the $200 to $250 price range. This means it will be at least half the price of Apple's current iPads and even challenges the prices of the device in Apples iPod Touchline.
This report from iMore also states that the device will only have 8GB of memory, half of what the cheapest “normal” iPad has meaning that users would have to make a choice between portability and memory capacity. The reason behind the unchanged resolution is Apple's need to keep “Retina Displays” on its iOS devices.

With the constant rumour mill surrounding Apple, flimsy facts are often being released from unregistered bloggers about new products and up and coming advances, but rumours have now gone into overdrive as an official Apple source has leaked information to a Chinese website about an up and coming new device a Nano iPhone.
Apple are said to be considering the move to a smaller device so they will be able to actively compete with the more affordable smartphone market, which is currently dominated by Android based devices.
Since the first release of the iPhone there has been growing speculation that Apple will release a smaller version of their official iPhone to cater to the wider audience, now it seems they are finally going through with the idea. In the past, however Apple has never been a company that followed what the customer wants in a device as Steve Jobs famously quoted “it is Apple’s role to tell consumers what they want, not the other way around” so this would be a first for the company.

Today the world is mourning the loss of a creative genius, as Steve Jobs, the co-founder and former chief executive of Apple has died at the age of 56. The visionary behind products such as the Macintosh, iPod and iPhone had been suffering with pancreatic cancer and had only stepped down as CEO six weeks earlier.
Jobs had said in his resignation letter that, “I believe Apple's brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role." He also said he would continue to work with Apple in role of Chairman.
Apple has since released the following statement:
"We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today.
Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.
His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts."

There is battle on over who has the biggest smartphone share within the United Kingdom as RIM (Research In Motion) have disputed claims that Apple are the top brand. Comscore released a set of figures that shows that Apple has overtaken Symbia (Nokia) to become the No.1 leading smartphone provider with almost 5.5 registered users.
The figures show that Apple has risen about 46% in the last year and that Google Android is not far behind in second place with 5.4 million users. However, RIM are clearly disputing these figures as they have said that they have nearly double amount of users (which is based on GFK-based numbers) that Comscore is showing.
